A public liability insurance quote will enable you to find the cost of insurance for your business type. Some information and details that you will need to provide in order get an online or offline public liability insurance quote includes type of business, number of workers in the company and information about business activities.

The most general information required for a qoute includes the following:

1. The type or category of business for which you are seeking a quote.

2. Clearly describing your business and indicating whether it is a limited liability company, sole proprietorship or a partnership.

3. Indicate an estimate of the annual turnover of the business. The annual turnover is the total amount of receivables against goods and/or services sold.

4. Indicate whether there are any existing claims or past incidents which could lead to a claim. If yes, then the dates, circumstances and amounts of those claims will have to be provided.

5. To get a public liability insurance quote, you will also have to indicate whether you have a working area in a commercial or industrial zone, apart from offices or shops.

6. Stating all subsidiary companies associated with your main business.

7. Applying for a quote requires you to select the coverage for public liability and product liability. The former gives coverage for damage to third party people or their property while on your property. The latter provides coverage if an individual (or group of individuals) bear damage by using a product of yours.

8. Indicate the maximum no. of workers so that the insurer can calculate the premium. The no. of directors/partners, employee strength, no. of clerical partners and clerical employees, all need to be specified.

9. Provide history of claims or incidents (if any) relating to occupational conditions/diseases like lung cancer, asbestos related diseases, deafness and dermatitis etc.

10. The starting date of coverage is also to be provided for a Public Liability Insurance quote. A 30 day period is what most insurance providers will be able to provide a quote for.

If you submit an online application for a quote, you will most probably receive a quote confirmation summary via email. This does not impose any restrictions or responsibilities upon you. This is just an initial calculation. You will have to discuss the details and specifics with the insurance provider's representative.

The best thing to do is to do a cost comparison of insurance providers online. This way, you will be able to get yourself the best and reasonably priced public liability insurance quote.
