As the owner of a jewelry store, you are a prime target for crooks. They would love nothing more than to break into your store and steal from you, because they would be able to then sell it and make a profit for themselves. In order to prevent this from happening to you, you should take steps to upgrade the security in your store.

The good news is that you have many options when it comes to upgrading the security of your jewelry store. For example, you might choose to install video cameras around the inside and outside of your store. These cameras offer you not only a good view of what customers are doing inside your store during business hours, but you can also keep an eye on your store during the nighttime hours.

You will have to decide whether you want to install the video cameras in locations where they can be seen or where they will be hidden. If they are installed where they can be seen, they will likely discourage thieves from attempting to steal from you, because they will realize they are being watched.

For securing restricted areas, you may want to install access control. Access control is a way to control who has access to certain places inside your business. Since the area behind the display cases is so vulnerable, you could put in doors with card readers to restrict who is able to go into these this area. Only those employees who are given a card will be able to open the door and walk into the area.

Another way of reducing crime in your store is by hiring a greeter. Crooks like to work in secrecy. If you remove the secrecy, you make their job much harder. Have your greeter speak to everyone who enters and look them right in the eyes. This will let the visitors know that their presence has been detected.

Security lighting is also a great way to upgrade your store's security. The brighter a store is at night, the less likely it is that someone will break in. This is because the lighting makes the activity inside the store very visible to those outside. Install plenty of lights and keep them lit all night long to discourage thieves from breaking into your store.
